Glacier Bay, Alaska

Glacier Bay is a park with 2 distinct personalities. The upper reaches offer the spectacular beauty of tidewater and dry land glaciers; awe inspiring rivers of blue, white, and gray ice flowing among and down jagged mountain peaks. But there is more than just this cruise ship aspect to Glacier Bay. It also offers patient visitors the beauty of peace, solitude, and nature at its best. It offers the rush of wind through a bald eagle's feathers, tidal movements imitating whitewater rivers, the surprised look on a seal's face when he sees a kayak bearing down on him.

The following pages contain some pictures from a sea kayak trip my wife and I took through the East Arm of Glacier Bay.
